Assassin Surf Rods and Poseidon Surf Rods

Assassin rods have been developed for the more professional angler or an angler who is prepared to spend from R2000 on a rod. The Assassin fishing rods were designed by Barry Wareham who has represented South Africa for rock and surf angling.

The Assassin rods are available as custom built units designed to the specifications of the client, or they can be supplied as a blank.

The Assassin rods are excellent surf casting rods and are used my many experienced anglers as well as the ESA (Extreme Sports Angling) team. The conventional rod can cast from 5 to 10oz while the HMG version can only cast from 9oz and up.

The Assassin rods are made of 3 sections so that they are easy to transport and store in your vehicle. They are made of 3 equal lengths and come in a tube for easy storage. Rods that are stored on a vehicle are easily stolen or broken by driving to close to an object in front of the vehicle. The bottom 2 sections of the rod are strong and rigid allowing for good transfer of energy while casting or fighting a fish. The rod can have 3 interchangeable tips which allows for a wide variety of angling using one rod.

The Assassin Blade rod is manufactured from HMG (High Modulus Graphic) or a standard graphite construction. The HMG version has virtually no flex in the base section with very little flex in the mid section.

The Assassin Blade fishing rod is a highly specialised rod and has been designed for big baits and therefore obviously for fishing for bigger fish. The standard version is a lot easier to use than the HMG version which requires quite a lot for power to cast due to the rigidity of the rod.

The Assassin Blade is not recommended for a novice angler and is not recommended to anyone who has not used the rod.

IThe Poseidon HMG range of surf rods have been developed for specialist Rock and Surf anglers to complement the Daiwa Saltiga and Saltist reels. The range of ultra lite (that weighs a mere 330grams) to extra heavy (770 grams) Poseidon HMG rods will set the benchmark for the ultimate Rock and Surf Rods.

The Poseidon HMG surf rods use only the finest HMG (high modulus graphite) available, The Poseidon HMG is amongst the lightest and strongest HMG series of rods available. The range consists of an ultra lite in spinning and standard option, a lite, medium, medium – heavy, heavy and extra heavy in standard options to cater for any rock and surf anglers needs.

The Poseidon HMG three piece rods are designed to load from the tip for maximum power and fast acceleration. To increase casting distance only the best Pacific Bay guides are used, the frame is one piece stamped stainless steel for strength and the ring is a diamond polished Zirconia for durability. The reel seat is Fuji’s top quality DPS winch.

The Poseidon HMG range of three piece rods come complete with a hardy cordura covered PVC rod tube with shoulder strap and a cloth bag.
