The Spotted Grunter Resort our piece of heaven is nestled between two mountains, Mt. Thesiger behind us and Mt. Sullivan across the river. These two mountains form the heads at the river mouth that flows into the Indian Ocean.

Port St Johns is really known for its fishing (Grunter, Salmon or Cob and Garrick).
We had no choice but to call our piece of heaven next to the Umzimbubu River, The Spotted Grunter Resort. The resort was started in 2001 and has grown each year.
There are TV's in all our cabins with SABC, ETV, MNET, or DSTV channels. Even though most of our guests prefer not to have TV. We do have customers that enjoy a relaxing evening of viewing.

Our peaceful small and exclusive paradise is just waiting to be filled with happy faces and families having a good time and enjoying themselves. We are pet friendly. There is a cabin which is wheel chair friendly as well.

Our luxury log cabins are fully equipped with microwave ovens, gas stoves and fridges. We provide bath towels and toiletries.

There are fans and heaters in the bedrooms and lounge. We have safes in the cabins for your valuables. We provide tea, coffee, sugar and creamer in all the cabins.

There are 4, 5 and 6 sleeper log cabins. They consist of kitchenette, bathroom with gas-heated water showers. The open plan lounge, dinning room area with single bunk beds and double bed sleeper couch. The bedroom is separate with a double bed or two single beds.

All cabins have their own braai area and private deck. Each cabin has its own secure allocated parking.

We try our best to keep a high standard of security in the resort. No private domestics or gillys are allowed on the property. We have electric gates and good fencing. We also have evening security guards that patrol the property and keeps an eye on everything.

The Anglers ArmsThe Anglers Arms Bar is fully licensed watering hole, with a wide variety of beverages and snacks. We also have a pool table and darts board.

Our Restaurant serves a wide variety of dishes and you can enjoy your meal inside or on our deck overlooking the resort and river.
