The Lodge's name “Ingwenya” derives from the Zulu word for crocodile. It was quite logical to choose a name for our lodge indigenous to Zululand, in this first world heritage site of South Africa.

Ingwenya Lodge is situated on the "outskirts" of the residential area of St Lucia, nestled in the heart of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. The property borders the nature reserve with a view of both the sea and the estuary, a very unique privilege in St Lucia.

Facilities includes air conditioning, a new swimming pool, Wi-Fi (wireless internet), an adventurous Jungle Gym for the kids, DSTV(bring your own smart card *), safe and a hiking trail that starts from premises. Units are serviced daily.

•Mkuze: (2 bedr, 1 double bed, 2 single bed, 1 sleeper couch, 1 complete bathroom) Ground unit non sea-view private boma. (6 sleeper)

•Mfolozi: (3 bedr, 1 Q size double bed, 4 single bed, 2 bathr with shower) Ground unit large kitchen and living area, sea-view. (6 sleeper)

•Mpate: (1 bedr, 1 double bed, 1 bathr with shower) Double storey great sea-view, private boma. (2 sleeper)

Mzinene: (1 Q size double bed, 2 single bed, 1 bathr with shower, 1 bathr with bath) Ground unit, sea-view. (4 sleeper)

Hluhluwe: (1 Q size double bed, 2 single bed, 1 bathr with shower) 1st floor great sea-view, wooden deck, Weber. (4 sleeper)

· Imvubu (2 bedr, 1 double bed, 2 single bed, 1 sleeper couch, 1 complete bathroom) Ground unit, large patio. Easy access, very large swimming pool in complex, Free DSTV, Complex has its own jetty on the estuary.

· Intaba (3 bedr, 1 Queen size double bed, 4 single bed, sleeper couch, 2 bathrooms), large patio with boma, private.

· Imboniso (3 bedrooms (double bed + single, double bed + single, 2 singles), two bathrooms, air conditioned, best sea view in St Lucia.)

· All units with fully equipped kitchens.

· Unit Mzinene's single beds are in the living area.

· Unit Hluhluwe has an open plan layout (bedrooms not completely private from each other).

· Unit Mpate is a small romantic unit with steep stairs leading to the bedroom.

· Unit Mkuze and Nyalazi - new luxury units.

· Imvubu unit is not on location. Situated in another complex. Check in at Ingwenya Lodge.

· Intaba unit is a stunning A-frame house, not on location. Check in at Ingwenya Lodge.

· Sea views are limited for ground floor units, as the village is just over a kilometre from the ocean.

· Check in time is from14:00, and check out time is up to 10:00. (special arrangements can be made by email and are subject to availability).
