Help, Iv`e seen some guys fishing from skis along the coast but am interested to know how difficult it is to get through the surf. I once tried with a paddle ski but got flipped time and again. Is it easier with a fishing ski because of its length?

Hi Fred, Its the width which creates stability. A paddle ski is a lot more unstable than a fishing ski. You need to watch the surf and try and lauch when there is a lull in between the sets to get out without a problem. Some surf launches are more difficult than others.

Hi dave, do all skis have 2 fins underneath or is this unique to the flycatboat ? I bought one and having paddle skied in Auz find it more stable than the paddle ski. Just curious, cheers tony
