Hi there.

I am planning on going to Namibia for a fishing trip and would like to get a few tips on baits to use, best fishing spots, and general information.

Help will be appreciated.

Hello
Best bait to use is Sardine, chokka and white mussles.
Good fishing spots is
Wolfgangsbaken (sorry for the spelling) for Galjoen
Paltjies 3 for Kabeljou
then you must go to the Skubbe bar and listen to the poeple there
hope it will help

Hi,

A permit must be obtained from the Namibian Sea Fisheries before you can start fishing. This permit indicate to you all the applicable regulations. They have offices in Walvisbay, Swakopmund and in Hentiesbay. The locals will guide you.

Sardine, Tjokka, White and Black Mussel are the most used bait. The fresher the better. No worms are allowed. Do not buy from locals as this can cost you your trip.

Currently reports indicate good catches at Paaltjies south of Walvisbay. (On and off) Close to Swakopmund favourite spots are behind the salt pans (north of mile 4, the old pump station at mile 6 as well as mile 14.

Good catches are made north of Hentiesbay - mile 108 up (Winston wreck)

Light tackle is a must to enjoy your fishing. Most fish are caught close to shore - in the last breaker!

Good luck.

Hello friend.
Last time we had a fishing trip to Namibia.
Our fishing trip included like 1.Fishing equipment and bait
2. Soft drinks
3. Lunch packs
There we spent three day fishing trip on the coast of Namibia.
The 300km long coast between Sandwich Harbour and the Ugab River mouth offers excellent angling spots.

Thanks
